What
Hooks are scripts or commands Claude Code runs automatically at set points. Each hook has a matcher, a pattern saying which tools or events it applies to. When Claude Code builds a summary of your hooks, it already stopped at limits on the number of hooks, their size and their arguments. It now has a fourth limit, on the combined length of all the matchers. Hitting any of these limits marks the summary as cut off.
Why
If you have a very large hook setup, especially one with long matchers, its summary will be cut off sooner than before.
