What
A hook is a piece of code that runs automatically at a set point while Claude Code works, and plugins can supply them. A function hook can be cancelled partway through. When that happens and the reason given is not a normal error, the error message no longer includes that reason. It now always reads: function hooks call aborted (reason not reported: it may contain plugin details).
Why
The reason for a cancellation can include details about a plugin. Leaving it out keeps those details out of error output you might see, copy or share.
