What
Claude Code now gives Claude a message saying that a local_file is for reading only. The message explains how to copy the file before editing it, and that the project_write tool will not accept it as a local path.
The code that adjusts file names when matching paths was also split out on its own.
Why
This steers Claude away from trying to edit a read-only copy of a file and toward making an editable copy first.
