What
The row where Claude Code shows auto-update status used to appear all the time. It now appears only when there is something to report:
- verbose mode is on
- an update is in progress
- an update succeeded
- Claude Code lacks permission to update
- an install failed
The "Update available! Run:" notice is also laid out again as a right-aligned column.
Why
The status area at the bottom of the screen looks different, with less clutter when there is no update news.
