What
When Claude Code forwards a tool call (a single action such as running a command or reading a file) to another machine, it sends a usage report about it. That report now includes a comparison between the Claude Code version on the host and the one on the worker that runs the call. The comparison is recorded as one of:
older
same
newer
unknown
The same report also carries details on which permission check let the call through, who approved it, and how long the steps took.
Why
This is reporting only and does not change how forwarding works. It makes version mismatches between the two machines visible, which helps track down forwarded tool calls that fail.
