What

Sometimes a message you send reaches Claude Code twice. Claude Code decides whether to ignore the repeat or run it again. Before, it handled two cases. It now handles two more:

  • the message was already taken in before a permission prompt appeared
  • the message's turn was cut short by compaction (Claude Code summarising the conversation to save space) and nothing from it was saved, so the message is run again
Why

Remote sessions should lose or repeat fewer turns.
