What

A hook is a command you set up to run automatically at certain moments, such as before Claude uses a tool. A hook can carry an "if" condition that limits when it applies. If checking that condition hits an error, Claude Code no longer fails. It keeps the hook and records that the condition was not tested.

Why

A mistake in a hook's condition no longer makes the hook quietly disappear.
