Compaction is when Claude Code shortens a long conversation by summarising it. Claude Code has gained code that records whether a finished turn would be skipped after a compacted conversation is loaded. The check applies only to remote sessions, meaning sessions running on a remote machine. A session is one run of Claude Code from start to finish. Nothing yet shows this code in use.
