What

Claude Code has a new check that is true when the environment variable CLAUDE_CODE_EXIT_AFTER_FIRST_RENDER is set, or when a second, separate condition is true. An environment variable is a setting you give a program from your shell. The variable itself already existed.

Why

This may be part of a way to measure how fast Claude Code starts up.
