What
ANTHROPIC_BETAS lets you add your own anthropic-beta header values to API requests. If it lists a beta that is now generally available, Claude Code no longer sends it. It writes a debug message instead, saying that the beta is generally available and the header is not sent.
Why
A beta you set by hand is now dropped once it is generally available. If a request behaves differently, check the debug log for that message.
