What

Claude Code colours code it shows you (syntax highlighting) and keeps recent results in a cache, a store of earlier results it can reuse to save work. Each saved result now also records the code it was made from and which variant of highlighting was used. Claude Code reuses a saved result only when both of these match the code being shown. Before, a saved result was found by a short fingerprint of the code alone, with no further check.

Why

This stops Claude Code from showing out-of-date highlighting, or highlighting that belongs to a different piece of code that happened to share the same fingerprint.
