What
To decide which folder a session belongs to, Claude Code picks, in order:
- the root of the working copy
- the git repository root
- the project root
This is the same order as before. The choice is now made in one place and the stored path is worked out from it.
Why
This folder decides where conversation records are kept. The order is unchanged, so they should stay in the same place.
