What

A permission prompt is Claude Code asking whether it may run a tool. In headless and SDK sessions (runs without the interactive interface, or driven by other software), a prompt can be parked while it waits. When a resumed worker adopts a parked permission that has input details, it no longer withdraws the prompt card straight away. It keeps an inheritedAsk open and waits for an answer.

  • takeAnswerForAdoptedCall: accepts a saved control_response only if its tool_use_id, request_id and input all match the parked permission. If the answer is missing, too old, has different input, or arrives in plan mode, you are asked again.
  • inheritedAnswerOff: a switch that disables this path. Its getter returns true when a setting reads "on" and false on error.
  • listTurnPrompts(): a new method that lists the ids of pending prompts that are not background prompts.

Before, the card was always withdrawn when the permission was settled at start-up.

Why

An approval you gave before a headless or SDK session restarted can now be used instead of being asked for again, but only when it matches the request exactly.
