What

A marketplace is a catalogue you add to Claude Code to install plugins from. Claude Code now refuses to add a marketplace whose name matches certain names built into the programming language it is written in, such as constructor or toString. It shows the message "Claude Code reserves this name and cannot register a marketplace under it." A marketplace already registered under such a name is not affected.

Why

Names like these could clash with Claude Code's own internal workings when it stores the list of marketplaces. Refusing them stops that edge case from going wrong. If you see this message, pick a different name for the marketplace.
