What
Claude Code has a built-in subagent for fetching web pages. A subagent is a helper Claude can hand a task to. Claude reads a short description of each subagent to decide when to use it.
The web-fetch agent's description now includes the sentence "Read the page rather than answer from memory." A sentence saying the agent can be reached again for follow-up questions is now left out in some cases.
The WebFetch tool's own description is unchanged in the capture taken under this release.
Why
Claude is pushed to fetch and read pages rather than rely on what it already knows.
