What
Claude Code can queue a request to send the current session into the background once the running tool call finishes. A tool call is a single action Claude takes, such as running a command or editing a file. If that request is still waiting and the input box has text in it, Claude Code now cancels the request and shows a notice. A waiting request is also cleared when the current turn stops.
Why
If you start typing your next message while a background move is queued, the session stays where it is instead of moving away mid-draft.
