Claude Code checks shell commands to see whether they might write to its settings files, and can hold a command when the answer is unclear. When a command sets simple variables to plain values (for example NAME=value) and then uses them, Claude Code now rewrites the command with those values filled in and checks it again. The verdict takes both the original and the rewritten command into account. Before, only the original command was checked.
This sits behind a remote switch, tengu_violin_camber, controlled by Anthropic's servers. The server returned off for this site's account and on for an anonymous account; no reading has been taken under this release yet.
Commands that use shell variables should be held as "uncertain" less often just because the checker could not see what the variables contained.
tengu_violin_camber Gate removed from the codeThis release deleted the gate from the code while it was still reading on for the account this site reads, so the code path no longer asks a flag before running.
This account: on · anonymous baseline: on · compiled default in v2.1.295: not a boolean we can read
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
Read once, for one account on one subscription tier, against v2.1.295. It isn't a statement about your account. What a flag value here can and cannot tell you
A reading is one sample. Claude Code evaluates its flags remotely, so no client sees the targeting rule behind a value and this says nothing about your account.
