What
Claude Code uses ripgrep, a fast file-search program, to list files. On macOS, file listing now skips these folders when it would otherwise go into them:
~/Library/Containers
~/Library/Group Containers
~/Library/Mobile Documents
The step that counts files also stops early when it starts in your home folder or any folder above it. Before, it only stopped early for your home folder itself.
Why
If you start Claude Code from your home folder, you avoid macOS privacy pop-ups asking about other apps' data, and searches don't slow down scanning folders that don't matter.
