What

Some lists in Claude Code have a length limit. Entries in these lists are grouped by owner, and some entries are marked as managed. When a list goes over its limit, Claude Code now:

  • picks the owner groups to trim from entries that are not managed, unless the last entry is managed
  • keeps trimming until the list fits

Before, it removed the first item of one owner a single time, whether or not that was enough.

Why

Managed entries are now protected when a list has to be shortened, and the list is reliably brought under its limit.
