What probably matters to youSection of the release
Unclear What a reader who has set CLAUDE_CODE_PEWTER_OWL_TOOL sees differently when the turn now ends or carries on.
What
The behaviour you opt into with the environment variable CLAUDE_CODE_PEWTER_OWL_TOOL now gives a different kind of answer. It used to return a response ID, or nothing. It now returns either:
that Claude's turn should end, or
that the turn should carry on, together with a message for you.
The behaviour can also now be bypassed for particular calls. It still depends on CLAUDE_CODE_PEWTER_OWL_TOOL and on a remotely controlled switch, which falls back to on when the server sends nothing.
Why
This changes how the opt-in path signals the end of Claude's turn, the point where Claude stops and hands back to you.
Nothing here resolved what this flag was doing on this version, so nothing here should be read as on or off.
