What

Claude Code has a new function that looks through text for blocks wrapped in certain tags, written as an opening tag and a matching closing tag. The tags come from a fixed list. Each block, from the first opening tag to the last matching closing tag, is replaced with a fixed placeholder.

Why

This gives Claude Code a way to hide or shorten tagged content in text.
