Unclear It is not clear when a session enters the returned state or what a user sees when it is announced.

What

A remote session is a Claude Code session running on another machine. Claude Code now handles a new "returned" state for these sessions. If no worker is attached, or the state has already been dealt with, Claude Code reports the session as reconnected. Otherwise it announces that the session was returned.

Why

The message you see when a remote or background session comes back to you may now be different.
