What
A hook is your own code that Claude Code runs at set moments. Several small changes:
session.append is now available to hook code, next to session.send.
- A new self-hosted ask-ahead name is on a list of allowed names.
- The file-write permission check now removes one property from a copy of the request before deciding whether to deny it.
- The sandbox, which limits what commands can touch on your machine, gains a way to rename a file without overwriting an existing one.
- A hook that ran somewhere else is now reported as having run elsewhere.
Why
These widen what hooks and self-hosted agents can do.
