What
If you ask Claude Code to start in bypassPermissions mode (the mode that skips permission checks) and it ignores that request, it now shows a pinned, high-priority warning. The warning says that your user settings file needs "skipDangerousModePermissionPrompt": true. Before, only a plain note about the permission mode was shown.
Why
It explains why bypass mode did not apply, where before it could fail to take effect without any clear reason, and it tells you the setting to add.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
Added sinceA small documentation edit on Configure permissions touched a line naming bypassPermissions after this was published.**Subagent inheritance:** A subagent runs in the parent session's permission mode unless you set `permissionMode` on its [`AgentDefinition`](/docs/en/agent-sdk/typescript#agentdefinition) and the parent session is in `default`, `dontAsk`, …agent-sdk/permissionssee the edit
