What
WebSearch is the tool Claude uses to search the web. Before it turns on, it now runs a new check, and it stays off if that check fails.
The artifact tool's wording also changed in two places:
- Its list is described as "most recently opened or updated first" instead of "newest first".
- Its guidance tells Claude to load the tool before writing any document, plan or visual.
Why
If the new check fails, WebSearch will not be available in a session.
