Claude Code includes a web-fetch agent, a helper that reads web pages. Its description, which tells Claude when to use it, now adds that it stands in for a fetch tool when one is not available. It also says that calling it to read a page counts as ordinary tool use, so the general advice about when to start a helper agent does not apply.
Why
Claude is more likely to use this agent when it needs to read a web page, instead of holding back because starting helper agents is normally discouraged.
