What
On Linux, every open file has a number, and the system can report which path that number points to. Claude Code has a check that asks for this path. It now uses a different internal method that takes the file's number directly, and if the lookup fails, Claude Code treats the result as empty.
Why
This is internal plumbing with no visible change for most users. If the path cannot be found, Claude Code carries on as though there is none.
