What

.claude/settings.local.json is an older local settings file in the folder Claude Code was started in. When claude plugin remove cannot read it, the command now says which of these was the cause:

  • a link that leads to another machine
  • a path that could not be read
  • the file changed while it was being read

Before, it gave one general message to repair or delete the file.

Why

You can see what to fix instead of deleting the file to be safe.
