Unclear Whether this request is available outside internal use, or sits behind a switch, is not known.
What
A program connected to Claude Code remotely, such as a desktop app, can now ask for autocomplete suggestions while you type in its prompt box, called the Composer. It sends a ui_prompt_autocomplete request with your draft text and where the cursor is.
Claude Code then runs the prompt.autocomplete hook (a point where plugins can add their own behaviour) for the word at the cursor and sends back suggestion rows, each with a text, a label and a description. If the same app sends a newer request before the older one is answered, the older one is answered as superseded.
Why
Plugins can now offer autocomplete suggestions in remote apps such as desktop, not only in the terminal.
