The mode that starts preparing a message's attachments before its files have finished downloading now has three states, set by two switches:
- off
- on
- on including PDFs
Claude Code's usage data, information reported back about how it runs, now records which state was in effect and whether a message was queued ahead of its files. Both switches are off unless they are switched on remotely.
The second switch and the PDF state point to an experiment with whether PDFs are also prepared early. With both switches off by default, nothing changes for most people.
tengu_amber_ferry Off in both readingsThe flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.
This account: off · anonymous baseline: off · compiled default in v2.1.292: off
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
tengu_slate_marten Not enough to sayNothing here resolved what this flag was doing on this version, so nothing here should be read as on or off.

Read once, for one account on one subscription tier, against v2.1.292. It isn't a statement about your account. What a flag value here can and cannot tell you
