Internal ChangesSection of the release
What
A byte order mark is an invisible character some programs put at the start of a text file. A helper that removes it used to go on to read the result as JSON (a structured data format) and give back nothing if that failed. It now only removes the mark and gives back the plain text.
Why
Whatever uses this helper now gets the raw text, not parsed data.
