An artifact is a page published from Claude Code. Two actions for working with one are now available:
- "list", given the artifact's url, shows the versions that are kept, with their ids and dates
- "read", given a version, saves that earlier version's page to a file on your computer
Listing only reads information, so Claude Code allows it without asking you unless one of your deny or ask permission rules matches it. Reading an earlier version works only when the artifact is known to come from your own account. When versions cannot be used, Claude Code reports that an artifact's earlier versions are not available in this session.
Claude Code can now recover an older version of an artifact instead of only working with the latest one.
