What
Some agents (helper instances of Claude) can watch a session as observers. What they are fed has changed:
Turns that did not come from a person are now passed on as non-user messages, labelled with where they came from.
Queued commands and polled events are now relayed to the observer.
The observer only looks at the part of the conversation after the last assistant reply or the last compaction summary. Compaction is when Claude Code condenses older conversation into a summary to save space.
It sends that part on after the first such segment.
Before, observers only got user messages and tool events, and polled events were not passed on.
Why
Observer agents get a more accurate picture of what is happening in the session.
