Unclear What causes a memory file to be withheld, and when the warning is shown, are not stated.
What
Memory files are instruction files Claude Code reads at the start of a session. It already warned when such a file, or all of them together, was large enough to slow things down. It now also shows a warning listing memory files that were withheld, meaning not loaded, with one line per file after the size warnings.
Why
You can now see which memory files were skipped, instead of wondering why Claude is not following instructions you wrote in them.
