Unclear It is not clear what the distinct labels look like.

What

The skill listing is the list of available skills that Claude Code passes to Claude. It is built differently now:

  • Disambiguated names: name-only and full lines are now built by a function that sees the whole list, so entries that would otherwise look the same can get distinct labels. Before, name-only lines were simply - ${name}. Usage is still recorded under the plain name.
  • Extra list: building the skill_listing attachment now passes an additional list to the formatter, combined with the existing one, so the listing's contents may change.
  • Command messages: your messages that run a slash command or skill are now drawn through a shared parser, with a new followsSpeakerLabel option.

Why

If you have two skills with the same name, they may now appear with different labels, so Claude can tell which one is which.
