What
The sandbox limits which files and network addresses the commands Claude runs can reach. When it fails to start, Claude Code shows "Failed to initialize sandbox" and resets its state. That reset now also clears the record that the sandbox had finished starting.
Why
A failed start no longer leaves the sandbox looking as if it is running, so it can be started again.
