Unclear What the added attachment contains, and what the extra step does to restored state, is not known.
What
--resume reopens an earlier session, and --print runs Claude Code once without the interactive screen. When a resumed session is set to drop its last turn, Claude Code used to just cut the messages. It can now also add an attachment entry to the resumed conversation. Saved worker state restored through CLAUDE_CODE_RESUME_FROM_SESSION also passes through an extra step before it is used.
Why
This affects rewinding and resuming sessions from programs that use the Agent SDK.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
Confirmed sinceAnthropic's documentation has since written up --resume, on Claude Code changelog.* Fixed plan mode not being restored when resuming a session from the `claude --resume` session picker or with `/resume`changelogsee the edit
