Unclear Exactly which cases now restore plan mode is not clear.
What
Plan mode is a mode where Claude plans changes before making them. When Claude Code restores a session that was recorded in plan mode, it used to also check that the plan-mode tool was enabled and run a further mode check. It now checks only that the recorded mode was plan and that the current permission settings allow it.
Why
Plan mode may come back after you restore or resume a session in cases where it used to stay off.
