Unclear The exact condition that hides the clear-context option is not fully clear.

What

When Claude finishes a plan, Claude Code shows a "Ready to code?" dialog asking how to proceed. Two things about that dialog have changed:

  • Default choice: if your proactivity level is ask, the dialog now preselects the option that starts coding and keeps the current conversation context. Before, nothing was preselected.
  • Clear-context option: the option to clear the conversation context is no longer shown in some cases, such as when a session is already running. Before, it depended only on the showClearContextOnPlanAccept setting.

Also, when you accept a resume into auto mode, Claude Code no longer treats your starting mode as having been decided by the proactivity level.

Why

If you use the ask proactivity level, pressing Enter on this dialog now keeps your context by default. If you expected the clear-context choice and it is missing, this is the reason.
