What

A tool call is a single action Claude takes, such as reading a file or running a command. Claude Code changed how it treats a reply in which Claude made several calls to the same tool at once. If no thinking block follows those calls and every one of them succeeded, Claude Code removes the duplicate calls and their results and keeps only the first.

This step only runs when an internal condition allows it.
