What

Notifications are the short messages Claude Code shows on screen. Each one is now either queued or suppressed. The choice depends on the context it is shown in and on whether screen-reader mode is on. Before, every notification was queued. Notifications marked to wait their turn no longer push aside the one currently showing.

Why

Some notifications may now be hidden in some situations, so a message you expect might not appear.
