What
Claude Code runs a git command to show a commit's hash and subject. It now ends that command with --, which tells git that nothing after it is an option. A branch or tag name that starts with a dash is then read as a name, not as a flag (a setting written with dashes).
Why
This stops an oddly named branch or tag from slipping extra options into the git command.
