Unclear What part of Claude Code uses this check is not known.

What

Claude Code has a new check for whether you are already signed in. It looks at sources such as these environment variables (settings you pass to a program through your shell):

The check reports no usable sign-in when a gateway is in use or when forceLoginOrgUUID is set. If the check itself fails, Claude Code logs "Existing sign-in check failed".

Why

This gives Claude Code a way to tell whether a sign-in is already available, which could be used by the login flow.
