What

When a reply is stopped while a tool call (an action Claude asked to take) was still waiting for permission, Claude Code now builds a result for it. That result ends with the reason aborted_tools and the message "This reply was stopped while a tool call waited for permission." When other turns are waiting in the queue, it also includes queued_turn_count.

Why

Programs that run Claude Code through the SDK or without its interactive screen may now see this new end reason and should be ready to handle it.
