Claude Code has a check that appears to decide whether a provider is using its default endpoint, the standard web address that requests go to. For the Claude Platform on Google Cloud provider, this check now follows the same pattern as the Vertex and Mantle providers. It treats the default endpoint as in use when ANTHROPIC_GOOGLE_CLOUD_BASE_URL is not set.
Why
If you point Claude Platform on Google Cloud at a custom base URL with ANTHROPIC_GOOGLE_CLOUD_BASE_URL, it is now handled the same way as a custom endpoint on the other cloud providers.
