What

Fleet view's simple mode still turns on when you set the CLAUDE_CODE_FLEETVIEW_SIMPLE environment variable, a value set in your shell before starting Claude Code, or when a remote setting turns it on. That setting falls back to off when the server sends nothing. What changed is how the same code finds your keyboard shortcuts.

Why

The way you turn on simple mode is the same. Only the shortcut lookup behind it is different.
