What
Claude Code can defer a tool. Deferring means Claude is not given the tool's full details at the start, and finds it through tool search when needed. Before this change, a tool was deferred if it came from an MCP server, was on one set list, or was marked to be deferred. A tool on a second set list is now deferred too.
Why
More tools may now be found through tool search instead of being loaded at the start of a session.
