Claude Code has a new quick path for editing an artifact, meaning a web page Claude has made and published. It reads the page's single page.html file and asks the model, in one request with no tools, for a single edit. The model either returns find-and-replace changes (or a new file) or hands the job back to the normal process. The quick path retries once.
The changes are applied only if editing and publishing would not ask you for permission. The quick path declines and hands back in cases such as these:
- You do not own the page.
- The page is shared.
- The page has more than one file.
- The page is a live document or a room.
- The file uses Windows-style line endings.
- The file is larger than 409600 bytes.
- The edit would need your permission.
This could change how requests to edit a published page behave, because simple edits can be made directly instead of going through a full turn.
It is not clear what starts this quick edit or whether it is switched on for everyone.
