What

In remote sessions, settings can be served to Claude Code from elsewhere, and those settings can include environment variables for the project. Under a certain condition, Claude Code now does not apply these project environment variables, records that it held them back, and shows a message saying they were not applied.

Why

This is a security-style restriction on what served settings can change in a remote session.
