What

When Claude Code uploads an image attachment, it can now send a smaller copy and report doing so.

  • An upload result can carry a scaled field with width, height, original_width and original_height.
  • Upload results and errors can carry an upload_error_code.
  • When an image was sent as a scaled-down copy because of the server's maximum pixel size, Claude now receives a note saying so. The note tells Claude to offer the user a .zip if they need the original.
  • Uploads now pass separate options for skipping preview copies (noPreviewCopies, from the remote setting tengu_playful_panda) and skipping scaled copies (noScaledCopies, from tengu_level_wren). Before, tengu_playful_panda was folded into the originals-only option.
  • A limit, maxPosts, comes from tengu_zany_flask and falls back to 2.

Why

Large images sent to people viewing the chat can be shrunk to fit the server's limit. Claude knows when that happened and can offer the full-size file.
